Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT TOOLS CAN I USE?
You may use any medium i.e. gauche, pastels, acrylic, etc. We suggest that strong, bright colours be used, as light pastel may look dull once printed on newsprint. Please ensure that your full name, telephone number, and school name is written on the back of your design.
CAN I TRACE THE LOGO?
You can copy or trace the logos, but you may not paste the supplied logos onto your entry.
WHAT DO I DRAW ON?
All designs must be done on the supplied form. If other paper is to be used, please ensure that the exact same size template is used. The advert must be designed within the block given, not outside.
CAN I CUT AND PASTE A LOGO?
You may not paste logos or any pictures onto your advert, you must draw them freehand, copy or trace them. Try not to let the pupil spend too much time on the logo, but rather to divide their time into planning their advert, tracing the logo and colouring it in and doing the rest of the design.
CAN I DO THIS AT HOME?
The designs must be done during school hours under teacher supervision.
WHAT ELSE CAN I USE?
We suggest that crayons, Koki pens or pastels be used. If pencil is used it must be 2B or softer. If paint used on the paper supplied it will warp and crinkle. We therefore suggest that if an entrant wishes to use paint i.e. Water/acrylic, that the correct paper be purchased. Remember to measure the advert size and once complete, paste the entry in the space provided on the entry form.
